Welcome to our blog!
As many of you know, we were planning to start our great loop adventure sometime around Mar. 18. We have a new departure date of April1st for many reasons. Mainly it is so lovely here in Fl. and the states we are headed to are struggling to stay warm. We were able to buy a used car from a friend here which gave us a set of wheels after our leased car was turned in. The boat has had a few doable repairs which we are happy to discover while still here. We continue to off load the unnecessary things on the boat and add all the things we feel are important. I now have a really functioning kitchen!
Tom has transferred to a Lions Club here and also the local United States Power Squadron. I subbed in a bridge group yesterday. We have been busy seeing lots of people here whom we won't see until next Dec. Classes were offered by a couple who have traveled the east coast extensively by boat - we found these helpful and inspiring.
Leaving later may cause us to travel a little faster through the areas we have already seen (here to Savannah) but staying here longer seems like the right choice.
